CONCERNING
REQUIREMENTS ON MICROBE CONTAMINANT IN COSMETICS

DIRECTOR GENERAL OF DRUG AND FOOD CONTROL,

Considering:

• a. that in order to protect the community against matters that may impair and or harm the safety, then it is necessary to prevent circulation of cosmetics that are not compliant;
• b. that microbe contaminant in cosmetics is one of causes that may impair and or harm the safety;
• c. that, therefore, it is necessary to stipulate a Regulation concerning Requirements on Microbe Contaminant in Cosmetics.

In view of:

• a. Law of the Republic of Indonesia Number : 23 of 1992 on Health;
• b. Regulation of the Minister of Health of the Republic of Indonesia Number: 965/ MENKES/SK/XI/1992 on Good Cosmetic Production Method;
• c. Regulation of the Minister of Health of the Republic of Indonesia Number : 140/ MENKES/PER/III/1991 on Compulsory Registration for Medical Devices, Cosmetics and Household Medical Supplies;
• d. Regulation of the Minister of Health of the Republic of Indonesia Number : 220/ MENKES/PER/IX/1976 on Production and Circulation of Cosmetics and Medical Devices.

DECIDES:

To stipulate:

First:

DECISION OF THE DIRECTOR GENERAL OF DRUG AND FOOD CONTROL ON REQUIREMENTS ON MICROBE CONTAMINANT IN COSMETICS.

Second:

Cosmetics which are produced and circulated must comply with the requirements on microbe contaminant in cosmetics as specified in Attachment to this Decision.

Third:

Others requirements on microbe contaminant in cosmetics that are not sufficiently regulated in this Decision will be stipulated further by the Director General of Drug and Food Control.

Fourth:

This decision shall come into force as from the stipulation date.
